Above the ground lies a huge “air space” – the sky through which the heating sun moves continuously and desirable flows of rain are pouring top-down from the inexhaustible reserves of the upper sky, separated from the visible heavenly space by the ground.

Picture of the world, drawn drown by Tripoli artists reflected a complex set of ideas about fertility, two heavens, promoting this fertility, and movement of time. Tracks of this amazing formation of our history were discovered recently… Only on our desire to understand their roots depends understanding of messages through the millennium which were left for us by Tripoli civilization.

Tripoli ornaments express the conception of natural phenomena, the change of day and night and the seasons. Ornamentation of the vessels shows plowing and sowing, animals and stems of the plant. The variety of the stories is incredible: here is the interweaving of slanting rain flows and sprouting crops protected by sacred dogs … Interesting and unique are the vessels discovered with a cross and the cross-dorje (swastika) typical for cultures of the East. Apparently, in its intertwining with other symbolic row they mean the beginning of life and its cycle with fixing of the centers which are the Sun, both physical and spiritual. Here it should be noted the highly artistic works with great intent of the author to identify a number of symbolic row through the playing of color contrasts, for example, the beginning of life and its first manifestations.

Tripoli culture (romanian Cultura Cucuteni, ukrainian Tripіlska Culture Kukutenі culture) is eneolithic archaeological culture, widespread in the VI-III millennium in the area between the Danube and the Dnieper river. The best its part was in the period between 5500 and 2750 years BC. We can surely claim that the Tripoli culture influenced the formation of agricultural Slavic nations having distinctive cultural tradition.

Traveling across Romania and exploring the Romanian national ceramics one can be amazed by its striking similarity with Tripoli ornaments. Romanian relative of Tripoli culture is Kukuteni (accordingly «kukutenskaya culture») it is a famous and well-known all over the world archaeological monument. But if this amazing culture was almost lost in Ukraine and again acquired just by chance, in Romania ancient ornaments are not erased in the memory of the people even for many thousands of years and continue to live in the modern culture surprising with its plot and grace!
