The company “Skifska Etnika” is pleased to announce the release of the new collection «Byzanti. Anna », the official start of which will take place on 10/19/2018.

Byzanti. Anna – Grace and Enlightenment – a luxurious textured collection based on historical subjects. At the head of the collection are drawings of Byzantine vessels for worship: a silver bucket and chalice, found in 1901 (Avar treasure), which had not only a special purpose, but also kept a secret symbolism and meaning in themselves. For the first time in the collection Byzanti. Anna uses Preciosa glass cabochons in emerald and sapphire colors that create bright accents and saturate the jewelry with light and depth.

The collection includes 7 sets.

Aksamit Set

Aksamite (from the Greek. Εξα – six + μιτος – thread) – the most expensive variety of multicolor Byzantine silk, produced on the basis of twill (diagonal) weaving in six threads. This rare type of fabric served for decoration of temple and palace halls, making ceremonial clothes. Byzantine axamites are mostly represented by fabrics with patterns and patterns.

The set includes: necklace, pendant, bracelet, ring and earrings.

Axios Set

Axios – (Greek ἄξιος “worthy”) – an exclamation pronounced by the bishop who ordains to the priesthood. It is pronounced when the vestments are delivered to each new liturgical clothing, and then repeated three times in chorus. In antiquity, by singing “axios” people expressed agreement with the dignity of the ordained.

Alabaster Set

Alabaster (Greek. Ἀλάβαστρος – alabaster vessel or bottle). In the Byzantine liturgical tradition, the Alabaster was called the vessels in which myrrh (fragrant oil) was consecrated. Filled to the top with fragrant oil, Alabaster symbolizes the continuous succession of grace.

The kit is available in two colors: silver and antique gold. The set includes: necklace pendant, bracelet, ring and two pairs of earrings.

Anna Set

The Byzantine princess Anna was the wife of Prince Vladimir and marked the beginning of fashion jewelry made of glass in Russia. The Byzantine masters, who were cooking glass for the stained glass windows of the Church of the Tithe, gave waste in the form of multi-colored drops of various shapes and sizes to local craftsmen, who, giving them a frame, turned them into ornaments.

The set consists of a bracelet, pendant, ring and two pairs of earrings.

Holy Dew Set

Grace in Christianity is of very important and key importance and is regarded as a gift from God to man, given by grace. Grace is intended for salvation and spiritual enlightenment of man. The grace of dew symbolizes purity and, like a heavenly gift, has a sacred character.

Miro Set

Miro (Art. Slav. Mѵro from ancient Greek. Μύρον “aromatic oil”) is a specially prepared and consecrated aromatic oil. Such oil is stored in a special vessel and used in the sacraments of the church.

The set consists of a necklace, a pendant, two pairs of earrings and two stud brooches.

Byzantine Princess Set

Byzantine princess, and later, Princess Anna became the first educationalist in Russia. Thanks to her efforts, special schools were created for the training of priests. Icons and church utensils brought by Anna from Byzantium became the standard for copying them by painters and artisans.
